ON THE STREET
DETOURS CYPHERS
The creation festival organized at the end of September is preceded, since 2015, by the Detours Cyphers which take place every Wednesday of July, August and September in the center of Brussels and in various cities of Wallonia.
DETOURS QUARTIERS
The Detours Quartiers allows us to reach a public who is less aware of artistic creations. Last year, we invited the champions of the Detours to lead workshops directly to the residents of these neighborhoods.
URBAN DANCE CARAVAN
Conceived and (co) created with students in scenography from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts Visuels – La Cambre, Brussels2030 and the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Urban Dance Caravan is a huge urban dance movement that crosses the city center, from square to square, to lead us to the heart of the Théâtre National.
INDOOR
WORK IN PROGRESS
Through its Work in Progress program, the Detours Festival supports the professionalization of urban artists. These shared-stage evenings give young hip-hop choreographers access to cultural spheres by presenting their works in progress.
Battle Final
At the end of the summer, the winners of each Cyphers battle come together for one final showdown: the Grand Final! A mix of cultures and styles featuring the best dancers of the season, from Belgium and around the world.
Creations Evenings
One or more evenings dedicated to performances of completed urban/contemporary dance creations, mainly featuring creations that won awards at the previous year’s WIP.

From July 14 to September 25, the Detours Festival brought the city of Brussels to life with dance, hip-hop culture, and conviviality!
The 2025 edition was exceptional, marked by record attendance and incredible collective energy. But beyond the performances, Detours was above all a space for exchange and connection, celebrating the positive values of hip-hop: respect, diversity, and unity.
Professional and amateur dancers, choreographers, audiences, and partners from all over the world came together in a spirit of cohesion and equality throughout the different stages of the festival.
From the Detours Cyphers to the Work In Progress evenings, via the Soirées Créations, the Urban Dance Caravan, the finale at the Théâtre National, the Detours Quartiers and the professional meetings, this 2025 edition was simply unforgettable!
